Health insurance is a major decision and becomes an even bigger one when faced with a cancer diagnosis. With premiums increasing, it is more important than ever to be aware of the cost of your healthcare plan. How can you make sure you have the right coverage at the right price? That’s where we can help.
We are excited to announce the launch of our newest program, in collaboration with Triage Cancer, Finances 101: A Toolkit for Young Adults with Cancer. The Toolkit guides you – our young adult community – through some of the most common financial challenges young adults face after a cancer diagnosis. Whether at the time of diagnosis, in the midst of treatment, or at any point in recovery, we want to help you prevent financial crisis.
Today is also the start of Open Enrollment for 2017 Marketplace insurance plans, so we thought health insurance would be the perfect topic for us to cover first. It’s important to know not only how much your plan costs, but also what is being covered and the language used to talk about health insurance. We hope that the Toolkit can guide you to make informed decisions about your health insurance.
So, how does it work? It’s easy!
Visit cancerfinances.org and answer a few short questions. Your responses will lead you to the information and resources most relevant to you – no need to search pages of text to find what applies to you. And the best part? The whole process takes only a few minutes.
Health insurance is just the first topic of many to be released. Over the next few months, we will be adding more topics including disability insurance, employment issues, and much more. We are incredibly excited to launch the Toolkit and to continue supporting our young adult cancer community. Financial decision making is a challenge we can help you tackle.
