We recently shared with you an update from this fall’s recipients of the Dr. William Stutzel and Carole Knopf Stutzel Memorial Award, and The Jeremy Hill Memorial Grant, and today we’re excited to share with you an update from two of our 2015 Graham Family Foundation grant recipients. Thanks to support from the Graham Family Foundation, we were able to honor five young adult survivors of Hodgkin’s lymphoma this past grant cycle. We are grateful to the Graham family for their continued partnership and proud to share with you Gerri and Christina’s story.
“I want to thank everyone at the Graham Foundation that made this grant possible for me. I wholeheartedly appreciate your generosity for giving me this grant and the opportunity to catch up on my car payments. I was once told that it takes a village to raise a child. I add that, it also takes a village to help to repair a problem that may have raised in adulthood, that was out of their control. Graham family, I would like for you to know that you repaired my problem, and again, I thank you.”
“I am a Pre-K teacher and I teach at a school that is 45 minutes away from my house. I was driving a vehicle that was over a decade old, had over 200,000 miles on it, and had been through quite a bit of maintenance. I made the decision to purchase a newer, gently used car to get to and from work safely. My Samfund grant was designated for my car loan. Because of the grant, I was able to focus on paying off a remaining hospital bill from chemotherapy. Having this grant meant less stress about making ends meet with a new car loan and trying to keep a medical bill from going to collections. I am extremely blessed and grateful for your kind generosity! Thank you so much!”
