The 2013 Holiday Campaign Needs You!

“Cancer-free.” These are the best words those going through treatment can hear. For months, their lives have been interrupted by cancer. And once their treatment is behind them, the pure joy of having a new lease on life is quickly overshadowed by the mounting financial burdens associated with being a cancer survivor – especially when they’re young adults restarting their lives before they really even got started.

CIF_PMS2602_letters_verticalIn reality, cancer isn’t free. It depletes savings, puts lives on hold, and often forces young adults into catastrophic medical debt and even bankruptcy at an age when they are working towards their personal, professional and educational goals. Halted by a cancer diagnosis, it can take years to financially recover even when the words cancer-free become reality. Check out our new brochure by DW Advertising that tells the stories of Jonathan, Renita and Jennifer, all young adult survivors who received grants from The SAMFund when they needed it most.

The SAMfund holiday campaign is a critical fundraiser because it helps to define how many more young adults we can help in 2014. The more we raise, the more we can award grants to those challenged with a mountain of medical bills, along with fertility issues most likely attributed to the very treatments that saved their lives. The more we raise, the more we can assist with rent or mortgage payments, school loans, and car payments that all add up to an incredibly stressful situation that isn’t good for their physical or mental health.

Will you help The SAMFund provide a brighter year for young adults across the country in 2014? You can donate directly to The SAMFund here or support one of our teams here or individual fundraisers here. Help us reach our goal of $100,000.
