“All the savings I had set aside, to help me accomplish these goals have been used up to take care of my monthly health care costs. My hope, if I am chosen for as a grant recipient, is to build up the costs that I have lost. Often times, I’m overwhelmed by all of the responsibility of my health
care cost. Working freelance is the reality I face in a struggling economy and scarce job opportunities. I have been put in the position where I must take a job (or two) even if it means I have to sacrifice health benefits. Between co-payments for physical therapy, medical visits, and surgeries and other costs that my health insurance carrier won’t cover I’m completely drained financially, physically and emotionally.”
