“Now, nearly four years post-diagnosis, I have established a good life in Seattle. I have a loving husband, wonderful friends, a beautiful house and my health. Life is finally “on track.” Yet the financial burden of last 4 years has been barely sustainable. My health problems have created major emotional and financial stress in life and on the relationship with my husband during our first year of marriage. And of course, the stress is bad for my long-term prognosis. As a cancer survivor, I learned that survivorship is a lifelong process and although I finished active treatment, I am not free of the effects of this disease.”
