New York, NY
survivor of Hodgkin's lymphoma
“Unfortunately, my inability to work full-time during my treatment, medical expenses, and a period of time post-treatment spent doing freelance and temporary work drove me into debt. I am climbing out of it slowly, but the high cost of living in New York has made it difficult. I am requesting a grant...to supplement my rent, gym membership, and utilities that will allow me to continue my cancer-free life without my gnawing fear of financial instability. This fear, more than anything else, is a constant reminder of the way cancer held me back from living a full life, and pursuing school and my career. Without it, I hope to feel a little bit freer.”
