“I have a significant amount of debt as a result of my absence from the work world since my diagnosis, and they sit there and I make payment plans and some get paid and others I just can't afford. The frequent calls from credit card companies and medical billing offices are onerous and troubling, but sometimes I don't think they realize how resilient one becomes as a cancer survivor. A grant from The SAMFund would help relieve the burden of debt that seems to only grow with my tiny budget as a full-time student and an unpaid intern.”
