Madison, WI
survivor of osteosarcoma
“My scholarship enabled me to purchase a new computer, which made it easier for me to get my schoolwork done at home. My long-term goal is to continue my education, eventually obtaining my PhD in psychology. I plan on doing research on the psychological effects of cancer on young adult patients. I know from my own experiences that this is a time in life when everything is up in the air--when cancer is added to the mix, life can fly out of control. I want to find ways to give more support options to young adults dealing with cacner as well as other serious illnesses. In this way, I hope to bring my cancer experience full circle: From the shock and pain of the original diagnoses to doing everything I can to make life better for other patients and survivors.”
