“The SAMFund grant has enabled me to return to school, and fulfill prerequisites toward medical school. In order to do so, I had to resign from my job, where I had medical insurance. Without being covered on a group plan, I am only eligible for Cobra, at quite a substantial cost. I simply would not be able to follow my dream without health insurance, and the regular CT scans and follow up required due to my 3 cancer diagnoses.”
