“One of the toughest things about being a young cancer patient is the fact that before diagnosis, we were living paycheck to paycheck. Like most people our age, we didn’t have a significant amount of saving or retirement plans to pull funds out of, so we are still struggling to provide for our family’s basic needs. Trying to keep up with the medical co-payments and general expenses that went along with my treatment was more than our family could take… [a grant] from the SAMFund would help us catch up on our mortgage and prevent us from losing our home."
