“I'm not a fan of the word survivor since it doesn't quite express the battle we went through to be the person we end up becoming. I choose to say I am a cancer veteran. I don't want the cancer to change what I envisioned for my life. I still want to travel. I swant to see the Taj Mahal and Machu Picchu. I want to become an ESL program director... I want monies won from this fund to cover my tuition and medical bills which would in turn enable me to attend conferences... to help educate ESL instructors on how to deal with cancer in the workplace and how instructors can handle the awkward situations with their students.”
