“I never intended to pay for college with my credit card when I was younger… Illness struck me so suddenly that within three months, I had no savings. Now I have no savings and solid debt... I am currently enrolled at the City University of New York, with a major in nursing. I know I will truly make a difference in someone's life when I am a nurse. I have living experience of how to stay positive and remain alert but not become engulfed in rage, fury, and anger... I would like everyone out there who is diagnosed with any form of the disease to know that there are dedicated professionals and others in similar situations that are surviving and moving forward.”
