Adam T, 26
Pittsburgh, PA
survivor of medulloblastoma

"A strange calculus runs through my head whenever considering long-term plans. I strongly believe I'll be around for the foreseeable future, so I now think about having a family, my career and what I want out of life. I live in the moment, but I don't live exclusively for the moment. Once you become accustomed to the idea of living for more than the next couple months, you must once again realign your priorities. Recognizing my mortality yet not letting it control my life may be the biggest 'gift' I can take from this experience; finding the right balance is survivorship's biggest challenge.

If The SAMFund can aid me through supplementing the cost of my insurance premiums, books and rent, I can use more of my grad-school loan dollars for food and tuition... I am painfully aware that every $1
I borrow now will cost me $2 in the course of ten years... I appreciate your support in my endeavors and look forward to giving back, years from now, in ways I haven't even imagined."
