The SAMFund proudly provides financial assistance to young adults as they move forward with their lives after cancer. With our support, survivors are empowered to achieve their educational, professional and personal goals. Since 2005, we have awarded over $250,000 to recipients across the country. Click here to read recipient stories and updates.
Grants and scholarships provided by the SAMFund cover a wide range of post-treatment financial needs, such as (but not limited to): undergraduate & graduate tuition and loans, car and health insurance premiums, rent, utilities, current and residual medical bills, fertility-related expenses, gym memberships and transportation costs.
Applicants must be between the ages of 17 and 35, finished with active treatment and residents of the United States. Our application process happens once a year, beginning with a Letter of Intent (LOI) phase in June. Anyone interested in applying must first submit an LOI. After a review period, selected applicants will then be invited to submit a full application. Those applicants will be notified in November as to whether they have received a grant.
The SAMFund would like to thank everyone who applied for the 2007-2008 grant & scholarship opportunities. At this time we are not accepting applications.
If you are a young adult between the ages of 17 and 35, finished with active cancer treatment and a resident of the United States, and would like to be notified when The SAMFund makes the next grant and scholarship applications available, please fill out our inquiry form and we will add your information to our database.
If you would like to join our grants and scholarships mailing list, please email us at info@thesamfund.org.
For any other information, please contact Michelle Zeitler, the SAMFund Program Director.
We are excited to partner with Camp Mak-A-Dream and First Descents to provide travel scholarships to each of these programs. If you are interested in attending the Young Adults Survivors Conference at Camp Mak-A-Dream or any of the programs at First Descents, you must first submit your application to them. They will provide all necessary information about applying for a SAMFund travel scholarship.
