The Samfund 2.0

simageAll of you may have noticed by now that we have a new look — new logo, new website, new spelling (we’re still getting used to that one). Lots of big changes!

While we may have a new image, our core values remain the same: we have been, and always will be, dedicated to helping young adult cancer survivors move forward. For the past 12 years, we’ve heard thousands of stories of struggle, survival, and perseverance. Our supporters and donors have helped us award over $1.5 million in grants and have watched with us as young adults across the country feel empowered to take their first steps towards financial recovery. We’ve seen their hope renewed, and their confidence restored. By supporting us, you’ve given them reassurance that they are not alone, and addressed the fact that #cancerisntfree.

So, why the new look?

We have helped countless young adults move forward with their lives after cancer and as the start of our 13th year approached, we decided it was time for us to move forward as well.

With all the change that has been happening for us, we felt we needed an image that accurately reflected where we’ve been, and where we’re going in the future. In the last year alone we have welcomed new staff members, added a second grant cycle, and expanded our resources and online education tools.  We have been working to find creative ways to connect and support this growing community of young adults and give them the support they aren’t finding anywhere else.  We’ve taken a hard look at our core values and what makes our organization unique. As a staff and Board, and with help from volunteers and alumni, we’ve designed The Samfund 2.0 and we hope you like it as much as we do! Our voice is loud and clear and we are proud to be leading the #cancerisntfree conversation.

This big news is just the start in a list of exciting things happening for us. We’ve just recently notified 92 young adults across the country that they’ll be receiving a total of $150,000 in Samfund grants! We have lots more news to share in the coming weeks, so we hope you’ll check in with us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube. We love reading your comments and posts, and would love to hear your thoughts as we set out on this journey moving forward.
